regulation

Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

These regulations impose biosecurity duties when an exotic animal disease is suspected: people leaving such premises must disinfect themselves (r 3); livestock and farm produce cannot be removed without an inspector’s written release (r 4); and the Chief Veterinary Officer can require vaccination of domestic animals (r 5). Each offence carries a $2,000 fine. They also repeal earlier exotic‑disease regulations (r 6). The rules shift compliance costs (disinfection, vaccination) to occupiers, owners and reporters, and vest key release and vaccination decisions with inspectors and the Chief Veterinary Officer.
