Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation repeals (cancels) the Excise Procedure Regulations from 1908.

What it does:

Removes outdated administrative rules about how excise duties (taxes on goods manufactured in Australia, such as alcohol, tobacco, and fuel) were processed and collected.
Wipes the 1908 regulations off the statute books completely.

Why it matters: This is a housekeeping measure. After nearly 50 years, the 1908 rules had likely become obsolete—either replaced by newer regulations or simply no longer relevant to how excise was administered. Repealing them prevents confusion and keeps the law tidy.
