Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This amendment extends the temporary CCTV evidence regime in ACT courts from 12 months to 2 years and records that law as a "reserved law" in the ACT administrative transition list. It affects vulnerable witnesses who may give evidence by video link and the judges, lawyers and court staff who manage those proceedings. The change matters because it preserves the pilot longer so the justice system can properly evaluate whether remote testimony works before a permanent decision.
