#### 16 Requirement for inspection 16 Requirement for inspection > > (1) A certifier must not issue a construction certificate for development on a site that affects an existing building unless a certifier has carried out an inspection of the building. > > > > Maximum penalty (subsection (1))— > > > > > (a) for a corporation—300 penalty units, or > > > > > (b) for an individual—150 penalty units. > > > (2) If the development affects an existing building that is a class 1b, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 building, an inspection must include the following parts of the building— > > > > > (a) the parts of the building affected by the development, > > > > > (b) the egress routes from the parts of the building affected by the development.
