Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This document cancels (revokes) the legal declaration that created the Tasmanian Seamounts Marine Reserve.
What it does:
Why it matters: Revoking a marine reserve means the area is no longer protected under that specific legal declaration. This change was likely part of a broader reorganisation of marine parks—specifically the Commonwealth’s move toward new marine bioregional planning in 2007, where older, smaller reserves were often rolled into larger, updated marine park networks.
When it takes effect: The revocation becomes legally active 60 days after this document is officially registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.
