45 Cooperative agreements – assessment process (1) This section applies if a proposed action or strategic proposal in the Territory also affects another jurisdiction. (2) The Minister, on the advice of the NT EPA, may enter into an agreement with a Minister of the Commonwealth, a State or another Territory in relation to the process of environmental impact assessment of a proposed action or strategic proposal. (3) The purpose of the agreement is to establish a single environmental impact assessment process for the action or (4) The agreement must identify the process to be used to assess the proposed action or strategic proposal. (5) The process must: (a) meet the objects of this Act; and (b) provide for community participation in the environmental impact assessment process; and (c) provide for a report of the environmental impact assessment to be prepared.
