229 Incriminating information (1) A person is required to notify a notifiable incident under this Subdivision even if to do so might incriminate the person or make the person liable to a penalty. Environment Protection Act 2019 212 (2) Any information that is given by a person in a notice under this Subdivision is not admissible in evidence against the person for an offence or for the imposition of a penalty. (3) Subsection (2) does not prevent the use of information given by a person in a notice under this Subdivision to locate or identify further evidence that may be used in evidence against the person in a proceeding for an offence or the imposition of a penalty. (4) Subsection (2) does not apply in relation to: (a) an offence relating to the provision of false or misleading information; or (b) an offence against section 228.
