463Provision of false information

463 Provision of false information (a) a person provides information or documents to the Authority or an authorised officer under this Act; or (b) an authorised officer is performing a function or duty or exercising a power under this Act and requires a person to provide information or documents. (2) A person must not do any of the following— (a) provide information or make a statement that is false or misleading in a material particular; (b) conceal any materially relevant information or document; (c) produce a document that is false or misleading in a material particular, without indicating in what respect it is false or misleading and, if practicable, providing the relevant correct information. Section 314 provides that subsection (2) is a civil penalty provision. The penalty for contravention of this civil penalty provision is set out in the table in section 314. (3) A person who contravenes subsection (2) commits an offence. (5) This section does not apply to the provision of information or documents by a person under Part 6.3.
