29 Meaning of *pollution incident* A ***pollution incident*** means an incident or a set of circumstances— (a) that causes a leak, spill or other unintended or unauthorised deposit or escape of a substance; and (b) as a result of which, pollution has occurred or is occurring— but does not include an incident or a set of circumstances that solely involves the emission of noise.
