262 Announcement before entry on warrant (1) Before executing a search warrant, the authorised officer executing the warrant or any assistant to the authorised officer must— (a) announce that the authorised officer is authorised by the warrant to enter the place or premises to be searched; and (b) give any person at the place or premises an opportunity to allow that entry. (2) Subsection (1) does not apply if the authorised officer reasonably believes that complying with subsection (1) would frustrate the effective execution of the search warrant.
