26 Multiple contraventions of general environmental duty (1) This section applies to— (a) a contravention of the general environmental duty; or (b) a contravention of the general environmental duty for which an officer of a body corporate (including a body corporate representing the Crown) is liable. (2) Subject to any contrary court order, 2 or more contraventions may be charged as a single offence if the contraventions arise out of the same factual circumstances. (3) If 2 or more contraventions are charged as a single offence, a single penalty only may be imposed in respect of the contraventions.
