255Authority may serve information gathering notice

255 Authority may serve information gathering notice (1) For the purpose of performing a function or duty or exercising a power under this Act, the Authority may serve an information gathering notice on a person requiring the person to do all or any of the following— (a) provide to the Authority any information or class of information specified in the notice before a specified time and in a specified manner; (b) produce to the Authority a document or class of document specified in the notice that is in the person's possession, custody or control, before a specified time and in a specified manner; (c) to appear before the Authority at a time and place specified in the notice to do all or any of the following— (i) to give information specified in the notice, either orally or in writing; (ii) to produce a document or class of document specified in the notice that is in the person's possession, custody or control. (2) A person must not, without reasonable excuse, refuse or fail to comply with a requirement under subsection (1).
