18 Legal immunity
(1) No civil or criminal proceedings lie against a person who is, or has
been the authority, an authorised officer or an analyst for an act or
omission done honestly in the exercise or purported exercise of a
function given to the person in that capacity for this Act.
(2) Subsection (1) does not affect any liability that the Territory would,
apart from that subsection, have in relation to an act or omission
mentioned in that subsection.
(3) The Territory is vicariously liable in relation to a tort committed by a
person in the exercise or purported exercise of a function given to the
person for this Act, if the exercise or purported exercise is in the
course of the person’s capacity as a public employee.
