Energy Safety Levy Act 2006

Collection

act

Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Act imposes an energy safety levy on any "energy industry participant" when a levy is determined under the Energy Safety Act 2006 (see ss. 14(1) and 16).

Mechanically, it does not set rates or procedures itself: it makes affected businesses legally liable to pay whatever levy is determined under the Energy Safety Act. That places a direct cost and administrative compliance obligation on industry, with rate-setting and collection decided under the other Act.
