21 Variation of licence because of legislative requirements (1) Where a licensee is required to vary the route of a proposed pipeline as the result of an Act or instrument of a legislative or administrative character, including an Act or instrument of the Commonwealth, the licensee may apply to the Minister for a variation of the licence to enable the licensee to comply with the requirement. Energy Pipelines Act 1981 24 (2) On receipt of an application under subsection (1) and after giving the notice and taking the steps that the Minister thinks fit, the Minister may vary the licence to the extent required to enable the licensee to comply with the requirement. (3) The Minister must not vary a licence under subsection (2) unless sufficient to accommodate the variation of the route.
