sec.77 Obtaining information for performing functions
This section applies if a hub design body has reason to believe that a relevant person has information the hub design body requires to perform a function of the hub design body under this part. The hub design body may, by written notice given to the relevant person, require the person to give the information to the hub design body. A notice under subsection (2) must state— the information the hub design body requires; and the way the information must be given; and the date by which the information must be given to the hub design body. A relevant person who is given a notice under subsection (2) must comply with the notice unless the person has a reasonable excuse. Maximum penalty—100 penalty units. It is a reasonable excuse for an individual not to comply with a notice given under subsection (2) if complying with the notice might tend to incriminate the individual or expose the individual to a penalty. A relevant person may disclose information to the hub design body under this section despite anything in the national electricity laws. A relevant person who complies with a notice under subsection (2) incurs no liability for breach of contract, breach of confidence or any other civil wrong for the compliance. In this section— relevant person means— a person engaged or proposing to engage in an activity mentioned in the National Electricity (Queensland) Law , section 11 (1) , (2) or (4) ; or a participant or proposed participant for a regional energy hub; or another person who may hold information relevant to the operation of the national transmission grid in Queensland. s 77 amd 2025 No. 30 s 73 sch 1 (sec.77-ssec.1) This section applies if a hub design body has reason to believe that a relevant person has information the hub design body requires to perform a function of the hub design body under this part.
