### 66 PMP may request Commission to issue VAD substance authorisation
> > (1) If a person’s PMP has determined a final request by the person by determining under [section 55(a)](#GS55@Hpa@EN) that the person is eligible to access voluntary assisted dying, the person’s PMP (whether or not the person’s PMP was the person who made under [section 55](#GS55@EN) the determination of the final request) must request the Commission, orally or in writing, to issue a VAD substance authorisation.

> > (2) [Subsection (1)](#GS66@Gs1@EN) does not apply in relation to a person’s PMP if –
> >
> > > > (a) the person has informed the PMP under [section 16(1)](#GS16@Gs1@EN) that the person no longer wishes to access voluntary assisted dying; or
> > >
> > > > (b) the PMP has been notified under [section 16(5)(b)](#GS16@Gs5@Hpb@EN) by the person’s AHP that the person no longer wishes to access voluntary assisted dying.
