21D Member's contributions for ESSPLAN (1) A member may in accordance with section 20A(4) elect in accordance with this Part to— (a) make contributions to the Scheme; or (b) vary the amount of contributions to the Scheme; or (c) cease making contributions to the Scheme. (2) An election— (a) must be in the form determined by the Board; and (b) must be accompanied by any information required by the Board; and (c) takes effect as from the day determined by the Board. (3) If a person who becomes a member in accordance with section 21B(1)(a) is required to contribute to a superannuation fund and his or her employer is a participating employer who is required under a law of the Commonwealth of Australia to contribute to the Scheme in respect of the member under section 21C(1)— (a) the member is deemed to have elected to make contributions to the Scheme which are not less than the contributions required of the member; and (b) the contributions are made by deductions from the salary of the member.
