act

Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This short Act makes the emergency services levy legally payable by the persons and on the properties specified in Part 6A of the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1998. It does not set rates or collection rules itself; it simply imposes the levy mechanism that the Fire and Emergency Services Act defines. People and entities who are made liable under Part 6A must pay; the administering agency sets and collects the levy under that other Act.
