Tasmania regulation
These regulations prescribe that certain breaches of the Emergency Management Act (section 60(c) and (d)) are dealt with by infringement notice rather than prosecution, creating fixed monetary penalties. Individuals face 9 penalty units and bodies corporate 29.75 penalty units. The regulations are administered by the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management and operate through the Act's infringement‑notice mechanism, which converts specified non‑compliance into an on‑notice financial sanction rather than a court process.
