84 Fire fuel reduction The chief officer (fire and rescue service) and the chief officer (rural fire service) may, at any time in accordance with the strategic bushfire management plan and the Environment Protection Act 1997, light a controlled fire anywhere in the ACT for the purpose of reducing the risk of bushfire or the spread of bushfire.
