5Interpretation

#### 5 Interpretation (1) In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears: > Australia’s Foreign Investment Framework means any of the following Acts and any instruments made under any of those Acts: (a) the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act 1975; (b) the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Fees Imposition Act 2015; (c) the Register of Foreign Ownership of Agricultural Land Act 2015. > referendum has the same meaning as in the Referendum (Machinery Provisions) Act. > Referendum (Machinery Provisions) Act means the Referendum (Machinery Provisions) Act 1984. > The Act means the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918. (3) A reference in these Regulations to an elector or a person qualified to be an elector of the Commonwealth shall be read as a reference to a person whose name appears on a Roll of electors under the Act or a person entitled to be enrolled on such a roll.
