#### 169 Security of packages of ballot papers etc 169 Security of packages of ballot papers etc > > (1) As soon as is reasonably practicable after counting the total number of first preference votes recorded for each candidate (and, if relevant each group), each voting centre manager is, in the approved manner, to package and secure all the ballot papers and other materials used and provided for use at the voting centre. > > > (2) The voting centre manager must then— > > > > > (a) seal those packages, and > > > > > (b) endorse each of those packages with a description of its contents, with the name of the district and voting centre and the date of the election day, and > > > > > (c) sign with his or her name that endorsement, and > > > > > (d) permit any of the scrutineers who desires to do so to also sign the endorsement, and > > > > > (e) send those packages to the Electoral Commissioner.
