162 Notice of proposal to cancel registration The Commission may cancel the registration of a registered party under section 161(3) only if the Commission has: (a) given public notice stating the following: (i) the Commission proposes to cancel the registration of the party; and Electoral Act 2004 86 (ii) written objections to the proposed cancellation may be made to the Commission within 14 days after publication of the notice; (b) given the registered officer or last registered officer of the party a written notice stating the following: (i) the Commission proposes to cancel the registration of the party; (ii) the reasons for the proposed cancellation; (iii) written objections to the proposed cancellation may be made to the Commission within the time mentioned in paragraph (a)(ii); and (c) considered the objections made in accordance with the notices under paragraphs (a) and (b).
