178 Evidentiary provisions (1) A statement in writing purporting to be under the common seal of the Commission to the effect that a specified person has been generally or specifically appointed by the Commission for the purposes of this Act or in respect of specific provisions of this Act is evidence of the matters stated in the statement in the absence of evidence to the contrary. (2) A statement in writing purporting to be signed by the election manager in respect of an election to the effect that— (a) the election specified in the statement was held; and (b) a person specified in the statement was a candidate at that election— is evidence of the matters stated in the statement in the absence of evidence to the contrary.
