Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What it does This short regulation designates the Commonwealth Trading Bank of Australia as the official "prescribed bank" for the egg export industry.

Who it affects Egg exporters selling Australian eggs overseas. Under the parent Egg Export Control Act, these businesses were required to deposit their overseas earnings into a specific bank account controlled by a "prescribed bank."

Why it matters This rule ensured all money from international egg sales flowed through a single government-owned bank. This allowed the government to monitor export income, manage currency flows, and stabilise agricultural markets during the 1970s.
