Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act provides a temporary extension for egg producer representatives serving on the Australian Egg Board.

What it does

Allows the Governor-General to extend the terms of office for current Board members who represent egg producers
Pushes back the original end date (31 December 1950) to a new deadline no later than 31 December 1951
Gives the government breathing room to hold elections in each State so producers can choose their new representatives

Who it affects

Current members of the Australian Egg Board representing producers
Egg producers who will vote in the delayed elections

Why it matters Without this extension, the producer representatives' terms would have expired before new elections could be held, potentially leaving the Board without proper representation from the industry during the transition period.
