sec.196 Service fees payable in 2025

This section applies if— on the commencement, a person is undertaking senior secondary education at an assessing school other than a recognised school; and the person is not an Australian citizen or permanent resident. If the service fee under former section 165 was paid by the person before the commencement for the year, no fee is required to be paid under new section 164 for the year. If the service fee under former section 165 was not paid before the commencement for the year, the fee is a payable under new section 164. (sec.196-ssec.1) This section applies if— on the commencement, a person is undertaking senior secondary education at an assessing school other than a recognised school; and the person is not an Australian citizen or permanent resident. (sec.196-ssec.2) If the service fee under former section 165 was paid by the person before the commencement for the year, no fee is required to be paid under new section 164 for the year. (sec.196-ssec.3) If the service fee under former section 165 was not paid before the commencement for the year, the fee is a payable under new section 164.
