#### 356 Qualifications for educators—children over preschool age 356 Qualifications for educators—children over preschool age > > (1) This regulation sets out the qualification requirements for educators at a centre-based service educating and caring for children over preschool age for the purposes of regulation 126(2). > > > (2) At least 50 per cent of the educators required to meet the educator to child ratio for children over preschool age must hold, or be enrolled in and studying for, at least a qualification published under regulation 137(2) in the list of approved diploma level qualifications for educators working with children over preschool age for Victoria. > > > (3) All other educators required to meet the educator to child ratio for children over preschool age must— > > > > > (a) hold, or be actively working towards, at least a qualification published under regulation 137(2) in the list of approved certificate III level education and care qualifications for educators working with children over preschool age for Victoria; or > > > > > (b) commence obtaining a qualification referred to in paragraph (a) within 6 months of commencing to educate and care for children. > > > (4) Subregulation (3) does not have effect before 1 January 2014.
