321 Qualification requirements for educators—children over preschool age

321 Qualification requirements for educators—children over preschool age

(1) For the purposes of regulation 126(2), the qualification requirements for educators at a centre-based service educating and caring for children over preschool age are as follows—

(a) the first of every 2 educators required to meet the educator to child ratio for children over preschool age must be a qualified educator; and

(b) at least 1 of the qualified educators at the service must be a first qualified educator.

(2) In this regulation—

first qualified educator means an educator who holds a qualification that is published under regulation 137(2) in the list of approved qualifications for first qualified educators working with children over preschool age for South Australia;

qualified educator means an educator who—

(a) is a first qualified educator; or

(b) holds a qualification that is published under regulation 137(2) in the list of approved qualifications for second and subsequent qualified educators working with children over preschool age for South Australia.
