6 Meaning of parent (1) For this Act, parent, of a child— (a) means a person with parental responsibility for the child under the Children and Young People Act 2008, division 1.3.2; and (b) includes an out-of-home carer for the child. out-of-home carer, for a child—see the Children and Young People Act 2008, section 508.
