17D Exhausting all reasonable alternatives If a person is required to exhaust all reasonable alternatives before making a decision under this chapter in relation to a student at a school, the person must— (a) before making a decision to transfer or expel a student—be satisfied that suspending the student would not be effective or suitable; and (b) be satisfied that no other reasonable alternative is likely to be suitable or successful for managing the student’s unsafe or noncompliant behaviour.
