144 Internal review (1) If application is made for internal review of an internally reviewable decision, the decision-maker must arrange for someone else (the internal reviewer) to review the decision. (2) However, if the internally reviewable decision is made under section 17H (Suspension), the decision may be reviewed only by a person mentioned in section 17O (Suspension—government and Catholic system schools—delegation), other than the person who made the decision. (3) The internal reviewer must, within 28 days after the decision-maker receives the application for internal review— (a) confirm the decision; or (b) vary the decision; or (c) set aside the decision and substitute its own decision. (4) If the decision is not varied or set aside within the 28-day period, the decision is taken to have been confirmed by the internal reviewer.
