#### 48 Existing non-government schools 48 Existing non-government schools > Any registered school (within the meaning of the [Education and Public Instruction Act 1987](/view/pdf/asmade/act-1987-62)) in existence immediately before the commencement of this section is to be taken to be a non-government school and to have been registered under this Act for a period of 2 years from the date of that commencement or for the balance of the current registration under that Act, whichever is the longer period.
