220 Prohibition on registration of motor vehicles (1) The registration authority must not register a motor vehicle unless— (a) a statement of the dutiable value of the vehicle is lodged in accordance with section 215 and duty is duly paid on the application; or (b) the application for registration of the vehicle is not chargeable with duty under this Chapter. (2) In this section ***registration authority*** means the person who has the responsibility for the registration of motor vehicles in Victoria.
