48R Report of non-compliance with building legislation (1) If, as a result of an examination, the assessor is of the opinion that there has been a contravention of the **Building Act 1993** or any regulations made under that Act in relation to any domestic building work, the assessor must— (a) state that opinion in a written report; and (b) provide a copy of the report to the Authority within 5 business days after preparing that report. (2) The Authority may refer details of the alleged contravention to— (a) the relevant council; and (b) the relevant building surveyor in relation to the building work.
