48 Who may be appointed as an assessor?
S. 48(1) amended by No. 47/2019 s. 14(1).
(1) The chief dispute resolution officer may appoint as an assessor—
(a) an architect registered under the **Architects Act 1991**;
(b) a building practitioner registered under the **Building Act 1993** in a prescribed category or class;
S. 48(1)(ba) inserted by No. 26/2019 s. 133.
(ba) an endorsed building engineer within the meaning of the **Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019**;
(c) a person in a prescribed class of persons.
(2) A person appointed under subsection (1) may be—
S. 48(2)(a) substituted by No. 17/2025 s. 11.
(a) a person employed by the Authority under section 204 of the **Building Act 1993**; or
S. 48(2)(b) amended by No. 47/2019 s. 14(2).
(b) a person engaged for that purpose by the chief dispute resolution officer.
