125 Infringement notice S. 125(1) amended by Nos 17/1999 s. 30(2)(a), 21/2012 s. 239(Sch. 6 item 14.3). (1) An inspector appointed under the **Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012** may serve an infringement notice on any person that the inspector has reason to believe has committed an offence listed in column 1 of Schedule 2. S. 125(2) substituted by No. 32/2006 s. 94(Sch. item 10(1)). (2) An offence referred to in subsection (1) for which an infringement notice may be served is an infringement offence within the meaning of the **Infringements Act 2006**. S. 125(3) inserted by No. 32/2006 s. 94(Sch. item 10(1)). (3) For the purposes of subsection (1), an infringement notice must be in the form required by the **Infringements Act 2006** and may contain any additional information approved by the Director. S. 125(4) inserted by No. 32/2006 s. 94(Sch. item 10(1)). (4) The infringement penalty for an offence referred to in subsection (1) is the penalty specified in column 2 of Schedule 2 in relation to that offence.
