85Power to serve infringement notice

85 Power to serve infringement notice (1) If an authorised officer of a class referred to in column one of the Table at the foot of this subsection has reason to believe that a person has committed an offence against a section of this Act set out in column 2 of the Table that corresponds to that class of authorised officer, he or she may serve an infringement notice on that person. (3) An offence referred to in subsection (1) or (2) for which an infringement notice may be served is an infringement offence within the meaning of the **Infringements Act 2006**.
