102 Transitional provisions—Animals Legislation Amendment (Animal Care) Act 2007 (1) A reference in any Act (other than this Act) or in any instrument made under any Act or in any other document of any kind to the **Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals Act 1994** is deemed to be a reference to the **Domestic Animals Act 1994** so far as it applies to any period on or after the commencement day, unless the contrary intention appears. (2) A domestic animals registry licence in force immediately before the commencement day is taken to be an animal registry licence. (3) If a horse has been implanted with a permanent identification device immediately before the commencement day, that horse is taken to have been implanted with a prescribed permanent identification device. (4) The holder of an animal registry licence must, in relation to any record of identifying information kept and maintained in respect of a horse by the holder as part of a service in the nature of an animal registry service provided by the holder immediately before the commencement day— (a) keep and maintain that record in the manner prescribed and containing the prescribed information; and (b) keep and maintain a copy of that record in the manner prescribed. (5) In this section ***commencement day*** means the day that section 23 of the **Animals Legislation Amendment (Animal Care) Act 2007** comes into operation.
