Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document is a formal commencement proclamation made by the Governor-General. It activates Schedule 1 of the Do Not Call Register Legislation Amendment Act 2010 by fixing 30 May 2010 as the date it becomes law.

What this means:

The Amendment Act was passed by Parliament, but its changes don't take effect until a specific date is set (this is called "commencement").
This proclamation sets that date for Schedule 1 (the main body of amendments).
From 30 May 2010, the amendments in Schedule 1 became legally active and enforceable.

This is a procedural step that brings the legislative changes into force.
