E1.              About the scheme

E1.1                This part of the document sets out the specific requirements for the Discovery Projects scheme. This part must be read together with the general Discovery Program requirements detailed in Sections 1-14 of these grant guidelines.

E1.2                The grant commencement date and active project assessment date for each Discovery Projects grant opportunity will be available on the ARC website.

E1.3                The Discovery Projects scheme provides grant funding to support research projects that may be undertaken by individual researchers or research teams.

E1.4                The Discovery Projects scheme objectives are to:

1. support excellent basic and applied research and research training by individuals and teams;

b.              support national and international research collaboration; and

c.              enhance the scale and focus of research in Australian Government priority areas.

E1.5                The intended outcomes of the Discovery Projects scheme are:
