sec.9 Membership of local groups— Act , s 33

For section 33 (1) of the Act , the following persons are members of a local group— the persons appointed as the chairperson and deputy chairperson of the group under section 10 ; the other persons appointed as members of the group by the relevant local government for the group. At least 1 person appointed under subsection (1) (b) must be a person nominated by the police commissioner. At least 1 person appointed under subsection (1) (b) must be a councillor of a local government. The relevant local government for a local group may appoint a person as a member only if satisfied the person has the necessary expertise or experience to be a member. s 9 amd 2024 Act No. 22 s 92 sch 1 (sec.9-ssec.1) For section 33 (1) of the Act , the following persons are members of a local group— the persons appointed as the chairperson and deputy chairperson of the group under section 10 ; the other persons appointed as members of the group by the relevant local government for the group. (sec.9-ssec.2) At least 1 person appointed under subsection (1) (b) must be a person nominated by the police commissioner. (sec.9-ssec.4) The relevant local government for a local group may appoint a person as a member only if satisfied the person has the necessary expertise or experience to be a member.

• (a) the persons appointed as the chairperson and deputy chairperson of the group under section 10 ;
• (b) the other persons appointed as members of the group by the relevant local government for the group.
