#### 26 Guidelines by Attorney General 26 Guidelines by Attorney General > > (1) In the exercise of the Director’s functions, the Director is subject to such guidelines as the Attorney General, after consultation with the Director, furnishes to the Director by order in writing. > > > (2) Without limiting the generality of subsection (1), guidelines may relate to the circumstances in which the Director should institute or carry on prosecutions for offences. > > > (3) A guideline may not be furnished in relation to a particular case. > > > (4) If the Attorney General furnishes a guideline under this section, the Attorney General shall— > > > > > (a) as soon as practicable after furnishing it, cause a copy of the order to be published in the Gazette, and > > > > > (b) cause a copy of the order to be laid before each House of Parliament within 14 sitting days of that House after publication. > > > (5) For the purposes of this section, sitting days shall be counted whether or not they occur during the same session.
