What this document does

This determination authorizes the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) to officially award two specific diploma qualifications.

The approved qualifications are:

Diploma in Factual Television: from Idea to Screen
Diploma in Factual Television: Real Lives on Screen

Why this matters AFTRS is a Commonwealth statutory authority (a government body created by law). Under the Australian Film, Television and Radio School Act 1973, the school can only award qualifications that have been formally approved by the Chair of its Council. This document provides that legal approval for these two courses in factual television production.

Who is affected Students enrolled in (or considering) these specific diploma courses at AFTRS, and the school itself, which gains the legal authority to issue these formal qualifications.
