Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This determination sets the Total Allowable Catches for the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Fishery for 1 Dec 2006–30 Nov 2007, placing tonnage caps on target species (notably Patagonian toothfish and mackerel icefish) and limits for bycatch.
It applies to commercial operators with permits for this sub‑Antarctic fishery and aims to prevent overfishing and protect the region’s fragile marine ecosystem; exceeding limits breaches fisheries law.
