#### 17 Hindering employee from serving in Reserves (1) An employer must not hinder or prevent a person in the employer’s employment from: (a) volunteering to render defence service; or (b) rendering defence service. (2) A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence. Penalty: 30 penalty units. > Note: See section 4AA of the Crimes Act 1914 for the current value of a penalty unit. (3) A person who contravenes subsection (1) is liable to a civil penalty. Civil penalty: 100 penalty units.
