#### 19 Probation (1) The appointment of an officer may include a period of probation specified by the Governor‑General. (2) The Chief of the officer’s Service may terminate the officer’s service in the Defence Force at any time during the period of probation. > Note: The termination of an officer’s period of service is not followed by transfer to the Standby Reserve. (3) The officer’s period of service in the Defence Force includes the period of probation.
