Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations add the ACT Legislative Assembly to the list of bodies ADF members may stand for, letting defence personnel apply for leave to contest ACT elections on the same basis as federal and State parliaments. It’s a technical 1989 update after ACT self‑government — enabling ADF members to seek election while preserving the existing leave-and-resign rules if they win.
