Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act authorises the Commonwealth to spend £300,000 from the national treasury (the Consolidated Revenue Fund) specifically to purchase land for defence purposes.

Key points:

Simple funding mechanism: It appropriates (sets aside) a fixed sum for one purpose only—buying land for the military.
No red tape: Unlike complex procurement laws, this just provides the money; existing property laws govern how the purchases actually happen.
Single purpose: Every pound is earmarked for land acquisition—nothing for buildings, salaries, or equipment.

Who it affects:

The Department of Defence (giving them the funds to acquire property)
Landowners selling to the government
Taxpayers (as the money comes from consolidated revenue)

This is a classic "supply" Act—Parliament writing a cheque for a specific shopping list, in this case expanding military land holdings.
